Milano Memo 2024

Milan hosted the 62nd Salone del Mobile in April, drawing nearly 400,000 global visitors to explore themes of sustainability, wellbeing, craftsmanship, and the fusion of hospitality and workplace environments, alongside the seamless integration of technology into furniture design.

The event featured captivating citywide installations and activations under the theme of Materia Natura, emphasising circularity and material choices, set against the backdrop of Milan’s architectural marvels, where tradition and modernity blend effortlessly. Amidst the city’s brutalist buildings, opulent palazzos, cobbled lanes, and green courtyards, Milan Design Week celebrated design excellence through endless walking, indulgent spritzes, and lively discussions on enhancing our lives through design.

Throughout the week, Juliana Reesby tirelessly explored future trends, engaged with designers, and enthusiastically sought to bring the very best of the week back to us with this report. Here we reflect on the key themes and unveil the latest releases from this year’s fair.
