Jakob Berg
Born in Roskilde. Jakob Berg was educated as an industrial designer in Denmark, Berg was a prolific and accomplished designer with an elegant, unpretentious perspective showing a deep knowledge of the production process and a keen eye for detail. Committed to improving the environment, his designs optimise energy use and reduce material waste. He was an early pioneer in the exploration of bamboo in modern designs until his passing in 2008. For him, the concept of beauty was essential and he often said that “without beauty man wouldn’t survive a second”.
